Small classes for engineers who want to improve their writing and presentation skills, maximum four students.
These analysis techniques are particularly useful for academics whose first language is not English.
In the classes, students will learn simple tools to analyze their writing from the basics of sentence structure, to how to structure and write paragraphs, abstracts, and academic articles. Students are welcome to request specific issues that they would like to see addressed. Students are encouraged to bring in their own writing samples to work on. They will also have the option of sharing writing samples with others for group feedback. (This is up to each student’s discretion and it is fine to use placeholders for specific research data.)
Students will also prepare and practice mock oral presentations.
